Raise Your Expectancy

What a great start this year has been! I do not know about you but God has already blown the socks out of my feet. He is superseding all my expectations. I believe God wants to do the same for you in 2014.

One of the greatest things people struggle with is low expectation. They almost feel guilty about going to God and praying BOLD prayers. Yet, our Father’s desire is that we trust Him beyond our wildest dreams. I have learnt that the bolder we are with God the more audacious He is to fulfill our expectations. The Scripture says, “God takes pleasure in the prosperity of His children.” Raise your expectancy!

Most people go through life dry, dead and in despair because they never understood the Father heart of God. While we should never treat God like a good-luck-charm or Santa Clause, we must remember that at the heart of God is mercy. He does not give us what we deserve but much more than what we can ever comprehend. You can never expect too much from God. His thoughts and ways are higher than our puny minds. Raise your expectancy!

In 1 Chronicles chapter 4, Bible talks about a man named Jabez. We do not have much detail about his life. His name indicates pain and sorrow. Jabez grew up hearing his name associated with the worst yet he honored God more than his brothers. Maybe you have experienced life to be pain and sorrow. People have treated you wrong. You have received the bad end of the deal. Maybe you made a bad choice. No matter what brought you to your current state of affairs, God is looking down on you with favor. This is what happened to Jabez. He got tired of the status quo and he cried out to God, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request.” Friend, you do not have to twist God’s Hand to bless you. You do not have to bribe with good works. It is in His nature to be a good Father to you. If you will be bold enough to ask, God is bold enough to do it.

I read a study about baby locusts. They do not have the most aerodynamic body. Before these young critters can even learn to fly, they can jump up to two hundred times the size of their body. They know by instinct, when the wind condition is right. When the tree top begins to rustle, it’s their time to jump. Then they catch the wind and ride for miles without any effort. In the same way, today I’m rustling your faith and sounding an alarm. God is saying, “It’s your time to jump in faith.” When you do, He will make you ride your God-fortune beyond anything you could have ever imagined. It’s time for you to raise your expectancy!

I was visiting with some friends from out town. They are honest and good hearted people. They have worked tirelessly. But over the years they had some setbacks. People in the past had let them down. I told them what I’m telling you. Our past experience does not have to dictate our future. Today is a new day. God’s wind of favor is blowing in your direction. All you have to do is to jump in faith at the opportunity God brings you. It is God’s job to make sure that you catch the wind that will thrust you into the amazing future He has for you. Raise your expectancy!

Friend, don’t let another year slip you by without experiencing everything God has in store for you. The moment of God’s favor is here, right now. Yield yourself to the wind of the Holy Spirit. Pray BOLD prayers. Like the baby locusts, take the leap of faith. When you jump, God will make sure to send His wind of favor to take you to your destiny. Raise your expectancy. God is about to blow your mind with His goodness!

“My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him” (Psalm 62:5).
